Overview
After selling his Bellevue, Missouri home tract in 1816, Elisha Baker relocated south into Arkansas, following a migration route already used by several of his closest Bellevue associates. He does not appear to have purchased land in his own name after 1816; his final years were spent among his adult sons, and he settled his remaining affairs through direct personal gift rather than a will. No probate record for him has been found in Arkansas Territory's court records, despite a functioning probate system being in place from the territory's 1819 organization onward.
