Closing Portion of Family Record Affidavit
This page carries the final line of testimony, a witness signature, and the notary's jurat from a "General Purpose Affidavit" sworn around July 3, 1889 — very likely the closing portion of the same affidavit whose opening page follows as page 12. Witness J.R. McCasland attested to the genuineness of a family Bible record offered as evidence in Elias Roberts' pension case, and notary H. Paul Georgi certified the affidavit, noting a name correction from "Wm" to "Charles" made before the affiants swore to it — almost certainly a slip between two of Elias's brothers, William and Charles Roberts, both named in the family record on the following page. A docketing stamp on this page notes the filing was "asking a reconsideration of the claim."

Subscribed and sworn to before me by the above-named affiants the day and year first above written, and I certify that the above-named witnesses are personally known to me and are creditable persons; that the contents of the foregoing affidavit were carefully read over and explained to said deponents before they signed and swore to same. All additions, erasures or interlineations of the words (Wm to Charles) in the body of the foregoing affidavit were made before swearing. I also certify that I have no interest either direct or indirect in this claim.
