Julia Redding Patton Christian death is not the end. It is our entrance into God?s presence. It is a transition, not a dead-end street. Julia Irons Redding Patton received a call this day, August 31, 2005, from the death angel to accompany her on her last and final journey. He will take her through the still water into the place God has prepared for her. There she will rest with hm. Born to John Edward Irons and Mary Lou Ward Irons on November 7, 1917, in Criner, Oklahoma. Received Christ as her Savior at Kechi, Texas, under a brush arbor. She was baptized in the railroad tank at Kechi. She was a member of the First Baptist Curch, Clute, Texas. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in West Columbia, Texas, and Good Sams Club, PTA and Charity class. Services for Mrs. Patton will be at 3:00 pm. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Doug Stevens and the Rev. Jamie Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday befre the service. She was preceded in death by her dad, John Edward Irons; her mom, Mary Lou Ward Irons; sisters, Bessie Haley, Ivy Smith, Nora Radford, Pat Wilburn and Nellie Johnson; brothers Gerald Irons, Loyd Irons, Henry Irons and John Irons. She was also precded by the two loves of her life, first husband, William (Blackie) Redding, and her second husband, Willy C. (Curtis) Patton. Mrs. Patton is survived by two sons, Gordon M. Redding with his son, Mike, of Bloomington, Illinois, Curtis D. Redding and wife, Geneva, of West Columbia, Texas, with their children, Jon Yancy Nordan, Kim Allen, Renae Tucker and Johnnie Anderson;our stepchildren, Bill Patton and wife, Bonnie, of Humble, Texas, Glen Patton and wife, Susie, of Richwood, Texas, Charlie with wife, Vickey, of Clute, Texas, and Darlene Rodriguez of Clute, Texas; two sisters, Josephine Aldridge of Houston, Texas, and Doris Wilson and husband, Ray, of Mills, North Carolina; brother, Gene Irons and wife, Dixie, of Oakwood, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Yancy Nordon, Alec Nordan, Jon Allen, Wayne Wellborn, Bobby Johnson, Dean Irons, Tommy Avara and Gary Irons. Arrangements by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, 207 S.
