Note: Place: "natural de Balycursy" (1634 Santiago genealogy), identified as Ballincourcey (Baile an Chúrsaigh), Templequinlan parish, barony of Ibane and Barryroe, near Timoleague; in 1601 "Dermod m'Donogh oge O Collaine, of Cowrsiestowne" (= Ballincourcey) was probably her brother. No townland "Ballycurseen" has been found. Date: ESTIMATE; her daughter Elizabeth was born c.1580 and married by 1601, so c.1555-1562 (the earlier "c.1565" would make her about 15 at Elizabeth's birth).

His sons Donnell and Teige McDermod sold Bishop of Cork leases near Clonakilty and their inheritance to Boyle in 1615. In 1641 "Donogh Cullen" held Ballycorsey (Ballincourcey, 131a), with Morish Cullane at Ballintemple and Dermund Cullane at Darrary nearby (BSD), probably his descendants; all were forfeited (Ballincourcey to John Exham, 1667).

Note

"donnell Mc Dermod Mc Donnogh oge o Cullane, and Teag his brother" (Boyle, Sept 1615).
