Note: "Dermod Mc Owen, I.P." held West Killmurrogh (the 1615 patent's west half of Kilverogh) in 1641 (DS plot 155a). Identification with Dermod McOwen Hurley is probable (grade B-).
Residence

Rahacon, County Cork, Ireland
Citation details: Deposition of Henry Turner, 24/09/1642, MS 824, fols 118r-119v
Quality of data: primary evidence
Note: "dermott mc Owen Horley of Rahacon gentleman", among the debtors of Henry Turner of Bandon, clothier, "out in Rebellion". The TCD transcription reads "Rahacon"; on the page image (fol. 118v) the word looks more like "Raharon" (tentative, small script), which would match the "Ratharran" of his 1625 pardon.
Note

"Ratharran" and "Glouverane" are unidentified (compare Gloun, the traditional first Hurley seat south of Ballinacarriga).

Note

Research log, 7 Oct 2026: Estimated birth added (not documented) - BEF 1604, County Cork, Ireland - pardoned on 29 Jul 1625, so an adult then and born before about 1604. Unsourced, grade D.

Note

Possibly the "Dermond Hurly alias Murly" who was in Dundaniel Castle in 1642 (examined 8 Sep 1652) and one of the "O Murly" Hurleys in joint command there with Finin and Donogh; a Donogh McFinin McOwen Hurley shared the Combe ransom, suggesting a McOwen branch (grade C).

Quality of data: secondary evidence
Note

Possibly the "Dermod [mc Owen?] Hurly of Belleghe ... gent." listed with Donnell Oge Hurly of Belleghe among the debtors of William Holcom, 28 Oct 1642 (the word after Dermod is uncertain; grade C). The Dermod son of Daniel Oge (X439) was only about 14 then.
