Depositions in Texas Court of Claims case c/c 6996, heirs of John and Eli Roberts (applicant Charles Roberts, by James Johnston, attorney in fact), taken at Centreville before Henry D. Patrick, clerk of the Leon County Court: Richard Smith, 17 and 21 Nov 1858, and Robert O. Lusk, 20 Dec 1858. The witnesses spoke from memory of events twenty years earlier; dates of service and death are approximate, and Smith knew of the deaths only by report.
