Note on source	Cited by Connellan for the descent of the O'Hurlys from Brenann Bán, fourth son of Blod, and so from the same stock as the O'Briens of Thomond (Oilioll Olum, Cormac Cas, Fearcorb, Aengus Tireach, Luigdeach Meand, Conall Eachluath, Cas, Blod). The article says Ballymote repeats Lecan's account "evidently taken originally from different sources" and does not quote it, so we have one quoted account, not two independent texts. The stem is traditional and largely legendary in its early generations; treat as a claim of descent, not a documented pedigree. Manuscripts not consulted directly.
