Genealogy submitted in support of DON DERMICIO (DERMOT) O'DRISCOLL, native of Castlehaven, Co. Cork, for the habit of the Order of Santiago:

PARENTS: Don Dionisio (Denis) O'Driscoll, lord of Castlehaven, and Doña Isabel O'Hurley, native of "Baly Nicarrigui" (BALLINACARRIGA); both of the Diocese of Ross.
PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS (per the genealogy page): Don Cornelio (Conor) O'Driscoll, lord of Castlehaven, and Doña Juana O'Mahony of Dunbeacon. NOTE: multiple witness depositions in the same file instead name the paternal grandparents as Don Dionisio O'Driscoll and Doña Joana O'Donovan - an unresolved discrepancy, flagged for further research.
MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: DON REYNALDO (RANDAL) O'HURLEY, native of BALLINACARRIGA, and Doña Catalina Colan (Catherine O'Cullane/Collins), native of "Baly Curry." This is independent, contemporary (1634) confirmation of Randal Hurley and Catherine O'Cullane, the "R.M. / C.C." of the 1585 datestone at Ballinacarriga Castle, and of a daughter, Isabel, who married into the O'Driscolls of Castlehaven.

Witness depositions (sworn before secretary Pedro de Vivanco by Irish "Wild Geese" exiles resident at the Madrid court - Capitan Cornelio O'Driscoll, Daniel MacCarthy, Pedro de Torres, Juan Palomeque, Thomas de Luan, Patricio Cullen, Ricardo de Burgo/Richard Burke, Pedro Palomeque de Cueva, and others) repeatedly and independently corroborate the maternal grandparents (Randal Hurley + Catherine Colan of Ballinacarriga) and give the claimant's age as 34 in 1634 (b. c.1600). Final Council decree approving admission: Madrid, 12 January 1634 (dating relationship to the 5 March/May 1634 order for testimony not fully resolved).
