Research log	October 9, 2026 Note: Google search: Lester D. Burkdoll 1912-1977, Smith Mountain Cemetery. Sourced, grade B. Google search: Lester D. Burkdoll 1912-1977, Smith Mountain Cemetery. Sourced, grade B. Find a Grave: Lester D Burkdoll, born 21 Jun 1912, died 4 May 1977, buried Smith Mountain Cemetery, Dinuba, Tulare County, California (Block 2, Row 2C, Space 28). Agrees with this record. Burial place given the town (Dinuba). Places corrected and standardised: "Glenco" spelled Glencoe; "San Luis Obisbo" spelled San Luis Obispo; Phoenix placed in Maricopa County. The 1920 and 1930 census entries have no citation. Later search: Smith Mountain Cemetery burial list (CAGenWeb): "Burkdoll, Lester D., block 5, row 1B, space 12, 6/21/1912 - 5/4/1977". Dates agree. The plot "Block 2, Row 2C, Space 28" noted earlier from a Find a Grave virtual-cemetery snippet is Irene Burkdoll's plot in the cemetery list, so it was dropped from Lester's citation.
