• 1880 census, Indian Prairie Township: Syfronia Brown, 16, born Illinois, daughter of William W. and Elizabeth Brown; her parents' birthplaces (Kentucky, Indiana) match those given for Sophronia Hurley's parents in 1920. Not linked.
• 1865 Illinois state census: Martha (indexed as "Moitha Herley") had one male child under 10, probably Edwin.
