Continuation of Collins's O'Crowley family history; covers the early-1600s Carbery land settlement in which "RANDAL HURLEY OF BEALNACARRIGA" was one of several existing landowners (with Walter Coppinger, Teige Norse McCarthy, Florence McCarthy of Benduff, and O'Donovans) who took new titles as "assignees of Sir James Semple" after Semple's Scottish-plantation grant of Carbery. The re-grant to Randal Hurley included O'Crowley-held lands - Dromiticloghy, Liscroneen, Dromfeigh (David O'Crowley); Lisheenleigh (Mulrony, Cormac & Fynin McConoghor O'Crowley); Knockaghaduff & Farranemeane (Fynin Kittagh O'Crowley); Dromerk (Auliffe O'Crowley) - later inquisitions repeatedly describe these as held "UNDER THE RANDAL HURLEY GRANT."

Footnote 9 (citing Florence C. Long's O'Crowley pedigree) states: "MARY, DAUGHTER TO CORMAC O'CROWLEY, WAS WIFE TO JOHN DE COURCEY, 18TH BARON OF KINSALE, AND THEIR DAUGHTER ELLEN, WAS WIFE TO RANDAL HURLEY THE YOUNGER OF BEALNACARRIGA CASTLE" - independent corroboration of the 1628 Kinsale funeral certificate's record of Ellen de Courcy's marriage to a Randal Hurley of Ballinacarriga.

Also documents a separate, related Hurley line: WILLIAM McRANNELL HURLEY OF BALLINVARDE CASTLE, active in 1615 and 1631 land transactions with the O'Crowleys and Richard Boyle, first Earl of Cork - a Hurley of Ranell's patronymic but a different seat (Ballinvarde), not yet connected to the main Ballinacarriga line.
