Probably the source of the tradition (Collins 1951) that the builder's mother was a "Mary O'Crowley": she was grandmother, not mother, to the later Randals. Collins 1952 n. 9: "Mary, daughter to Cormac O'Crowley, was wife to John de Courcey, 18th Baron of Kinsale, and their daughter Ellen was wife to Randal Hurley the younger of Bealnacarriga Castle."
