Note
|
Research log, 2 Oct 2026: Google searches for "Richard Sargent" 1760-1834 Washington County Pennsylvania, Revolutionary War pension, Fort Laurens, Jane Atkinson: results were unrelated New England Sargent lines (Epes Sargent of Gloucester and others) and this site's own page; nothing confirms this family. Richard Sargent: birth 25 Dec 1760 at "Caran, Ireland" (place spelling unverified, left as written), death 31 Oct 1834 and the 1779 marriage are uncited. The note says his pension papers list duty at Ft. Laurens; those papers were not seen, and a search of Revolutionary War pension indexes (NARA/Fold3) could confirm him. Unsourced, grade D. |
