Note

Isaac's father, George Sargent came to Athens Co., OH about 1837 from Washingon Co., OH. In that year, George bought land from David Putnam. Isaac, as th eldest son, inherited the farm, which remained in the family until 1947. Isaac was a builder and engineer. He designed and built many of the covered bridges in Athens and Meigs County.
