Obituary posted in the Meigs County, Ohio TELEGRAPH TRIBUNE, May 8, 1908: 'DEATH OF ESTIMABLE LADY' 'Mrs. Charlotte Dains of Minersville, passed away Friday morning atthe home of her son, Will Dains, in the First ward. She came to the homeof her son in January and was taken ill with the grip from which shenever recovered. Deceased was 78 years and 15 days of age and issurvived by two children, one son mentioned above, and Mrs. Clara Dill,of Cincinnati. She was an excellent old lad, respected by all and herdeath is lamented by a large circle of acquaintances. The last sadobsequities were held from the home of her son Sunday.' Charlotte was a school teacher who taught her younger siblings in theone-room school house in theistrict. As his teacher, she was said tohave 'boxed the ears' of her younger brother, Asa, who NEVER forgaveher. She married Isaac Sargent, who had been one of her students.
