CONFLICT: this record gives Samuel a birth year of 1751, which would make him four years older than his son Curtis (about 1755). Left as recorded. Later search: "Four Generations of Aaron Jackson" (X480; compiled by Jo Martin, 2010; cites family researchers and Quaker records) gives Samuel Jackson Sr., born 1729-1730 (said to be in County Antrim; some researchers say Chester County, Pennsylvania); married Mary Catherine Plankinhorn about 1747 in Chester County; moved to North Carolina in the early 1750s and to Tom's Creek (Westfield), Surry County, about 1770-1772; died 1806 in Stokes County. This supports a birth about 1730 rather than 1751. Hinshaw (vol. I, New Garden MM) lists his children Joseph, Elizabeth, Jehu, William and Amer (1761-1769). |
